A few minor issues for HELL on Saturday (only 1 car ready to go at one stage), but come Sunday morning for the event, everyone was ready to go.
This club is amazing one. when there are 3 teams, help is often needed. Timing is the hardest task- standing on the wall for a couple days is quite taxing, and you cop the wind, dirt and grit. But you get more thumbs up than anyone else. There were plenty of helpers on hand. We finished 12th (Oath) 13th (Hell) and 21st (Tough). All cars finished, and whilst not as good as last years 5th and 6th, we still rocked....... Legendary Ted Robinson Pete gave me his car for the parade lap.... The coupe boys also had a couple of teams... 1600GT plus other club members in various teams...... We were lucky enough (or worked hard enough) to take home an award..... Cheers, GBG

Can we do this all over again next weekend!!! I had too much fun!!!
And the "Legendary Ted Robinson"...... He'd love that!!!!! The F6 made our job a bit easier! Once we got used to the brakes, the challenge was to make sure we didn't go too quick!!!

Just found this thread......
Had the best weekend, this event is awesome and so much fun!! We got some club members and friends together and formed two teams, #23 Team XD (so named because crusty old XD's are the track car of choice for coupe owners!!) and #24 Ford Mongrels (as the name suggests, all sorts of miscellaneous cars!!). Team XD entered three cars and five drivers but lost a car with terminal engine trouble before it got a lap in. we pushed on wth two cars and four drivers. Got heaps of penalties for breaking out our nominated lap times and finished 44th out of 50. We sucked, but with an inexperienced team manager (me) and a rookie driver pairing we learned a thing or two. Ford Mongrels fared much better starting with three cars and four drivers. They had entered four cars and five drivers but lost a car on practice day with engine gremlins. Half way through the relay they lost another car and had to cycle three drivers and two cars. In the last 30 minutes another car developed problems, the shared car was out on the track and was going to run out of laps for that drivers stint before the finish. The team manager was sweating bullets but managed to get the other car out in time and finished 18th out of 50. Great result!!! We had so much fun!! Thanks to Go Baby Go and the FPV/XR Club for their support, advice and camaraderie. We'll be back!!!!!
