Question AU premium sound problem

I hav an AUII 2001 Fairmont Ghia. Had some mechanical work done on it by a garage. When car picked up, the sound system was locked. Only displays "CODe". Obtained the code from a Ford dealer. But when entering the numbers, they are not displayed. Even left with the dealer for a day. Hav tried leaving with accessories and system on overnight, but still same. Dealer has advised will cost $280 to remove system, send to Melbourne, reset and reinstall it.

Are there any other quick / cheaper fixes ? Or should I just buy another head unit without a code ?

Thanks
Brad

Brad

either you switches on the sterring wheel jammed causing unit to freeze, pls check vol and seek buttons on sterring wheel, if not clicking properly they could be a t fault, other wise you cd player is at fault.

cheers
