Default FORD verification letters, don't hold your breath..

Ok, so after sending off a request for a build sheet ~7 weeks ago, and just about giving up, I was stoked today to finally get a reply!

Only to read, that Ford is updating their system, and they are not able to assist until further notice (see attached)..whether they will actually follow up, I am doubtful, and I guess it's a case of wait for 'x' months and try again

FoA as a manufacturer has been gone for some years now and i think those that remain have better things to do.

I think people who havnt already done them would be happy to pay for them? Especially if accurate and printed on fancy paper?

Maybe ACCHS will undertake these build sheets/verifications at a later date.

Its a letter from Ford that tells you the details of what that car left the factory with. Helpful for people trying to either track down vehicle history, provenance, features, or just for general curiosity.

I got the same fob off too when i chased one for my EL in June. Was hoping to see the selling dealer so i could try track down the original first issued number plates.

I wonder of a third party could broker a deal to get access to this database and then charge for the service? id be happy to pay 20 or 30 bucks for one like a PPSR if you got it in a day or two rather than waiting weeks or months or never...

Just call your local Ford Dealership and give them your VIN. The parts guys will be able to give you a printout of your VIN specific options from factory. The service advisors might even be able to tell you which dealer the car was sold at if they dig it up through their system.

Technical Contributor: For members who share their technical expertise. - Issue reason: The experience, information and willingness to help and share data in regards to the ZF cooling system options has probably cleared a lot of doubt about air/oil coolers and the ZF transmission.

And this one from the old Ford Etis days,

Dealer info only seems to go back to 2008 these days I believe though, worth asking the question nonetheless.

I could have sworn that I've seen older verification letters with the seller dealer at the bottom, in fact I thought they all did that?

Might try that, funny enough I actually work for a dealership network that has access to a few local Ford dealerships, I ran the VIN in my own system and nothing came up on 3 servers, but that would only mean that the car's never been in South Australia before me.
