I've seen them getting about in unmarked Hilux as well - you gotta be like a fly on crap with 100 eyes everywhere these days if you want to speed on the highway

I got suddenly very 'surprised' from behind on my bike the other by an unmarked silver Sante Fe.....They were detectives.

If they wanted to they could have impounded my bike and taken my license, but they just gave me a warning, (which i needed).

a mate of mine is in HWP, he was saying that the new HWP cars are Benz or BMW, the general consensus is that the Benz is a better car for them

There are unmarked Klugers as well and they are bad enough to drive. I’d sooner hand the badge in than have the misfortune of driving a Hyundai though. Got to have the correct tool for the job should the occasion arise

Rumour is they are considering the Stinger GT again, as many other states have.

Lets not forget the new Colorado divvy vans (which look outstanding I reckon). Interesting they went for the space cab and not the dual cab.

Those Santa Fe's would catch a lot of people out. I've seen them around and it's hard to tell if its someone doing a school pick up or if it's an unmarked car.

The usual extra antennas that don’t belong and the box in the middle of the windscreen . The VW Passat wagons are very covert though.

Makes me miss the days when basically every cop car was a commodore and the undercover cars had about fifteen antennas to help you spot them in traffic.

I feel sort of aggrieved at the idea of being nicked by an imported vehicle. If I'm going to cop a ping from an Australian copper, over an Aussie road rule, surely it should happen in an Aussie car?

And you're going to find a new Aussie car where?

Same thoughts lol. The last landcruiser that chucked a u-turn on a back country road with reds and blues , vanished rapidly into the rear view mirror and never saw or heard of him again

The torque from the 5 series Beemers is awesome....turbo diesel is a gutsy motor. Brakes are far superior to the SS Holdens.

There’s a white unmarked Santa Fe in Geelong that even has roof racks. Nearly fell over when I saw the lights flashing on it.

Undercover VW Passat (gold) pulled over a car on Ballarat road today. Would have never ever picked that one. Really have to watch out now...would never have picked it. I miss the days where you just had to look for Commodores.

I can guarantee it will only be the ones that the producers think will make 'good television'.

All the boring normal comments will be edited out.

There are Hyundai SUV cop cars in the northern suburbs of Adelaide... They're pretty slow and not suited to pursuit work though.

Don't ask, won't tell.
