Default Why can't thread titles be edited?

When I edit my messages I see that I can make changes to the thread content but the title cannot be changed. Why?

I thought it was the way the vBulletin software was made, so the users can't go round changing it all the time and confusing other users trying to follow the thread, that's why it is only mods who can change it. Could be wrong though, the mods maybe don't want you changing it for the above or another reason.

I have never seen the ability to edit the title of the thread on any vBulletin forum though or Invision for that matter.

You can allow users to change their titles, but it's up to the admins to allow this. Same reason AFF has a 30 min (i think) edit lockout...
