Default Why do I bother? :(

After spending the last week working on painting the bodykit to put on the car, and after all the hard work I have put into it in the last year, I was hoping to end up with a mad looking car.

Anyway, obviously someone else doesn't share that enthusiasm, because today some complete ******* decided they would run their keys down the entire passenger side of the car. I walked out of work and noticed someone had graffitied the building at work. There was a man cleaning it all up. Anyway, I got in the car, drove home, then walked around to the passenger side, and noticed a deep scratch running the entire length of the car. It is deepest on both the left hand guards and the rear door. Obviously I am incredibly ****ed off about it.

In all honesty this year just keeps going from bad to worse to me. It started with a car crash in January, and now this less than a week before Christmas. I am absolutely gutted that someone has gone and done this to my pride and joy. I know I often refer to it as the crapbox, but I don't really mean it. I love the car so I am not happy at all. Honestly it seems like a case of 2 steps forward, 1 step back with this car. Why do I bother?

I've had one of my cars vandalised, only I had dog droppings shoved under the door handles and both mirrors smashed off. I was so angry I just about ran into the middle of the street screaming for whoever did it to come out so I could hit them.

I was asking the very same question, why do I bother putting so much effort into my car if this is all thats going to happen? Anyway, the next day, I was putting all that angst and frustration back into fixing it up :

Chin up Dezza, end of the day, its only a car, and can always be fixed. I have a few good tips for removing scratches if you're interested.

Thanks Rob. The scratch on the front guard is VERY deep, so it'll take some work. Unfortunately, I reckon due to careless and inconsiderate morons, the car really needs a full respray. Unfortunately I don't have the money for that. To think about 5 years ago when I first got it, the condition of the paint was one of the reasons I got it. Besides a crack in the front bumper and faint dints in the bootlid and left front door, it was mint. Now it's stuffed.

Brad, there are cameras, but I'm not sure if they're out the front. I'll have to find out.

Dylan, that would be good if we could get some out.

Rob, I've still been working on the car. My rear bumper is off now!

Imagine how I feel. It's just gutwrenching. I know it's just an EA, but as I've said I'm a perfectionist.

BTW, I bought some rust converter to take out that small patch of rust you can see in the rear guard, but I don't know why I should bother now. Might as well just let the car rust away. I can keep spending a fortune trying to get the car looking immaculate but while morons continue to destroy it, I'll just be wasting my money.

Just buy 2 new doors and a guard in the same colour from that big self serve joint in kilsyth. I forget its name.

It'll be like $100 all up or less, the rear guard can probaly be buffed.

There are always cars in that colour down there.

I have just cleaned this thread up.

Whilst I agree with some of the names used in the swear filter evasions I will not tolerate it here in the public forums.

Dezza, this kind of thing really annoys me matey, I hope you get her fixed really soon.

Shame to see it like that Dezza... :( Perhaps we should all organise stealing Dezza's car in the midst of the night, and rebuilding it pimp my ride style... :P

On the bright side, the skirts look sweet.

Hopefully you can find the culprit and get some revenge/compensation.

lol Allen. "It's got monitors!"

The skirts look even better now, as the rear bumper is back on the car, now with skirt attached. Just need to put the plastic trims back in the boot, and tighten up the screws for the inner guard trims and all will be sweet. I'm also planning to realign the side skirts when I get the time because they aren't sitting quite right at the moment.

sorry to hear about your car dude - the worst thing about the loser that did it is that they gain absolutely nothing by such a stupid random act but the victim ends up with a costly repair.

That is by far one of the best looking EA's around, a credit to the owner

Thanks for that! I hope it looks even better before too long! I just don't know what I'll do about the side of it though
