G'day everyone
My dad has an xb gt coupe in antique biege that is currently undergoing restoration, the car is all matching numbered gt coupe with a fix auto. The car is very rusty but we have an old Fairmont coupe body shell with next to no rust to cut up and repair the gt body. The car at it present state is a bare she'll only the dash and wiring loom to pull out. The car is missing a lot of bits and pieces as the previous owner ratted it for bits. My dads ambition is to have the car on the road by Christmas time. Hope you all enjoy |

Love the resto threads. Pictures and a bit of story time, the more colourfull the better because it gives us all background on the trials and tribulations of the car in question.
Cheers, Rob. |

Good luck with the Resto? Going by the holes in the quarter looks like it had a Goss / McLeod spoiler fitted?

Put it back on, even if you think it looks stupid! It's part of your Coupes originality!

Matching numbers XB GT coupe , doesn't get much sweeter than that. And don't let anyone tell you what to put or not to put on it. It's your dads car so he should build it the way he wants it. People will suggest but it's the current custodians decision.

Always good to see another coupe getting restored. Good luck with the project.
Open up a Photobucket account to hold your photos so that you can embed them into your thread. There are threads that explain how to do this. I hope to get mine on the road by Christmas too - I just haven't decided which year.

G'day everyone
So at the moment the old girl hasn't had lots done to it as we discovered that the left hand chassis rail at the front is 10 mm shorter then the other one. So we either have to get it strecht or use the other one out of the donor car which is really good condition, not sure what to do. Also we have be working on the air conditioner to go into it. The car didn't have it from factory but we have a genuine select air unit to put in it. |

I would try and fix the original one, but that will depend on the damage?

Painted up a spare guard in some spare time. Colour looks about right. Hasn't had a cut and polish. What's everyone's thoughts?
