Default Herrod AU Fairlane

I was doing my usual routine, trailing through Google and I came across some old images of a Herrod enhanced Au Fairlane by accident. I was just curious if anyone had anymore info about them.

Yeah looks very nice....why are these cars growing on me!

I think people need to keep in mind that Herrod are a tuner, not a manufacturer so to speak. What they do is all class but they dont really have models as such, they have components enhanced and then badge them as Herrod enhanced.

So people claiming them to be Herrod cars are not wrong as such, but its not really right either. Only possible exception I can think of is the DJR320 but that what branded has a DJR car.

That's true they are basically a tuner.
I bought my AUIII "Herrod XR" ute brand new back in 2002 through Courtney and Patterson Ford.
In chatting to Rob one day while I was getting my car serviced, I asked him as to why my car didn't have the Tickford wings on the front guards. He said they took them off as it was now a Herrod XR8- No longer a Tickford XR8

Cool as it was to have a Herrod XR, I bought the wings off eBay and stuck them back on...

That looks pretty good to me. I blew up the photo, filtered it a bit, etc. Seems to have a painted a TL grille (the larger badge) or the mesh looks dark because it's in the shade, painted TL-style headlights, LTD rear lights (and possibly the clear garnish) and 18 or 19 inch wheels.

Does anyone know where I could get a set of those wheels? Used to fawn over them back in the day.
