Default User Warning System

Good morning

We have replaced the system of ad-hoc warnings and bans with a warning system that can be used by mods and admins to either alert users about breaches of the site T&C or formally warn them.

Each warning has a points value (alerts are merely advisory) and when a user accumulates 20 points they receive a 24 hour ban. These bans are doubled on each subsequent occasion until they eventually result in a permanent ban. The alerts and warnings are sent to the user by either PM or email.

Users can view their own points allocation in the user control panel - they will appear in the upper right corner of the CP entry screen.

A red warning icon will appear (and be visible to all members) in any post that has had a warning or alert issued.

This system had been designed to provide a more consistent approach to dealing with posts that breach the site T&C.

Thanks to the rest of the admin team for their input and testing of the system and to plext for the technical wizardry.

Regards
Russ

You will receive a PM from the mod/admin that issued the warning.

This is a great idea, especially for a site this big.
