Hi guys. My car is the one one the left. Completely stock standard, unlike Frosty's on the right. Mind you as a standard car it's quick enough to scare the pants off me.

Superb pics there. Gotta love that black.
Im after the Eibach Prokit Springs pretty soon. Have not seen them in the flesh yet to see it nice and low but lower is on the cards. Then the intercooler.... kind of holding off for some Aussies to maybe get their act together. What I really need is someone with a garage and the tools to help out! Then finally finishing up with the CAI done... cant justify the 1000$ to get that done just yet though :S Seems a lil steep. Anyways.. rambling. |

Cheers SimonR, your car is looking sensational too by the way – close to the best looking LR I’ve seen.
Marshy, you won’t regret getting the Eibach’s. The ride is firmer than stock, there is no denying that, but on the upside, the car is totally flat through the corners, which is great coz I hate bodyroll! The best thing about them though, is the improved aesthetics – they take away that horrible gap between the tyre and the wheel arch, and give the car a much ‘fatter’ stance. I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for a locally developed IC though. With the limited number of XR5’s getting around, it doesn’t really make financial sense for any local tuners to produce anything for the XR5. I know what you mean about having a garage with the right tools. I would have been stuffed (not to mention, a lot poorer!) if it wasn’t for Nick and his well equipped workshop. Speaking of CAI’s, I’ve got something in the pipeline, and it won’t cost $1000……stay tuned…. :Up_to_som

Yeah I hassled every intercooler mob I could find asking if they had any plans or anything available. Pretty much all of them wanted me to bring the car in so they could have a look... but responded with "we have no plans to develop anything for this car as we have too many things on the go already".
I was even offering a donor car. But thats all good! I know Im getting mine from OS then thats all. Cant wait to see what you end up with the CAI. Seems like a fairly easy thing to mod yourself from what i've seen done on the UK forums. |
