I know this has been brought up before, but we really need a section like this. I believe Melz has brought it up, but it never went ahead.
Would help backyard painters and people wanting to know how to go about fixing scratches, re-spraying panels, etc...

as good as it would be i think theres to many forums already, we cant just go adding new ones everynow and then. Atm poeple are still struggling to get posts in the right forum.

Not being the best atm, I agree we have heaps of forums as it is, but a exterior tech forum would be a good idea, to cover both painting, dents and cleaning.
At the same time we need to cull some non performing forums to make way for the new ones

I agree, I like the number of seperate forums at the moment, any more would be a bit much. Culling the underperformers to make way for new ideas sounds great (you will never please everyone though)...

Yes i suggested this a while ago and still think it would be a fantastic idea!!! So i vote yes we need exterior tech sections
 : Exterior tech can include more than just panel repairs but paint work (such as colour selection or flame jobs  ) and even (cough) bodykits

i think that is a tops idea!
since i will be purchasing a project car mid next year, it wouldbe great to have somwhere to refer to that is DEDICATED to things that would be relevant! would be good to see things like, Rust/repairs/protection/removal etc. and then some painting parts where some experienced painters could write some tutorials on what to use & how to's etc... i guess the list could be endless but i think it would be a great section! Maybe we should look vaguely at some form of education. Make it obvious where we do and don't post stuff. I personally don't struggle with it much. But I do see many people posting for sale stuff in the pub and that sort of rubbish. Maybe there could be a brief yet informative email that goes out to each member with a bit of an explanation of where to post stuff and how important it is to post in the right sections.

I know that Kenny. Admin seems to like the idea of the ext. tech. section, it's just a pain cause there are too many sections and people are struggling with where to post. What I'm suggesting is that we make it easier for the people whoa re less experienced with the forums to do things right the first time.

From an AU biased view the exterior tech section woul dbe a huge help.
One of the most common mods to an AU at the moment is a bodykit so it would fill in that area perfectly. Also with people like Falkeen, Racecraft and Doc having huge amounts of experiance in this area we have a great knowledge base to draw on.

I think a exterior one would be a good idea for sure, also agree that some forums with a small amount of traffic should be combined or something.
