Default Dansedgli gets pulled over and inspected :0

Well today I was going a little fast and a bike cop went past on the other side of the road so I slowed down, next thing I know a cop car is behind me.

I turned the corner and he kept following, bugger I thought he has got me for doing 80 in a 70 zone. Thats what I slowed too. :

He turns on the lights and my heart jumps in my throat. I get out of the car and he tells me to get my licence, he says it looks weathered, its only a month old.

I ask if I did anything wrong, he said well your cars lowered, thats a start! I thought shit he is going to bend me over :

He gets out his torch and looks under the car, then he starts going over the tyres. He walked around the front checking the height, I thought oh no the cooler! out:

Expecting him to ask me to open the bonnet he hands me my licence and says take it easy. He walks to his car and I spot my mate ****ing himself with laughter in the passenger seat. I could barely hold back the smiles as they drive off.

Lucky for me!

I got done for 76 in a 60 zone :( I had bald tyres too... damn I was lucky. Got off with 3 demerit points and $200 fine. Better than an unroadworthy car and loss of license. Actually got pulled over the coppa, not speed camera. He walked around the car, had a quick glance at the car. Phewww.

I just let my missus drive, they never seem to find a fault with a female driver behind the wheel.

I dont get it..you are worried about your turbo install? Something dodgey about your car? Or you just didn't want the fine?

Who cares what they say, if your car is above board then they can look all they like!

I'm surprised they didn't give you $10 of change and send you straight to the car wash.

exellent(mr burns voice)

it will be interesting when the lexus XF gets out and about, will be engineered on its nuts providing its got 110mm ground clearance(it will if i fit tall tyres 205/65/15)
its 90db at 3500rpm.
the only way they'll get me is if theres two black marks leading right up to the back tyres.
give me a couple more months and i'll find out for sure.

Its not that there is anything wrong with johns car clint, IS THERE JOHN :P:P

Its more the fact that cops see cars with bodykits, etc and i swear they go "jackpot!" LOL Even if the car isnt modded that much, aslong as you have a kit they will pull you over for the sake of it. I know ive been pulled over a few times since the 3/4 of sprint kit was fitted and ive asked and the responce i get is "you a P plater, your car looks heavly done up from the outside" (Untill they look under the hood )

Just cos something was done proffessionally doesnt mean its legal.
I dont think any of the CAPA kits are legal. You can still get done with APS mods even though they meet emissions.

Apparently there is some obsure RTA law that says that you can only have 1 major intake change. Therefore removing the airbox (counts as 1) and adding an intercooler (2) means that the car is unroadworthy. Just found out about this while researching the SC setup. Basically its a law that gives the police a chance to remove these sorts of cars from the road regardless of if its EPA legal or not.

Doesnt the turbo or superchrger count as a change as well?

When Doug got defected, the policetold us that it had to be ADR complied to be legal. Meaning it needed a compliance plate to pass legalities.

You might be right dan, the intercooler and the turbo/SC may be it. Either way, its 2 changes. I'm pretty sure the airbox is one too though so hell, its impossible. May as well go all out and do it.
