Default Respray update pics-- BLOOD ORANGE!

hey guys, after realising having 7 different colors of my car looked bad, i decided to give her a spray. the original plan was to go "vixen red" that color wasnt availiable in acrylic, so i chose blood orange!

these pics are after only one coat, but im doing a minimum of 3.
and im spraying the body kit now too, but havent got pics of that
post up what ya think!

cheers
scott

well the info i got off several people, is after its sprayed, it will be rough to feel, and look flat. then i wait 4-5 weeks, then sand with 1200 wet and dry sand paper, with LOTS AND LOTS of water flowing, then a quick polish, and it will be a mirror

It will be too busy with that grill IMO. Get an EB bonnet at the wrecker tomorrow for $50. It will only add an extra hour to the job and look heaps better.

bwhaahaa ... comment of the day.. If you want a mirror, it wont be a quick anything.. Also do a light 1200 then move straight to the 2000 grit to remove the peel... The longer you take with the smoother paper the easier it is to polish to a shine

What I have not yet seen is somebody use an older Falcon colour on a newer Falcon model. For eample what would an AU look like if it was resprayed Sandstone Beige (used on XB GTs).

That's looking pretty good so far. I hope you've got another set of rims lined up. Anything would look better than the old snow flakes in my opinion.

Yes, 2 pack does have a better off the gun finish. It's less after paint work when used.

The acyrlic will come up better once rubbed back. From the pics? It looks like the paints rough (not enough thinners). After a rub back, clear coat and buff it'll be a shiney as my XB.

the first 3 pics have dissapeared for some reason!! but there is a pic on the first page, in the daylight.

it looks a bit streaky, cos i got bout 3/4 through the first coat and the spray gun packed it in :( but 3 more coats will go on the car
