Default The AIT is registered!!

Mum took my paperwork down this morning to try and get the car registered without an inspection. The previous owners rego has run out but hadnt completely expired yet. We werent sure we could do it that way but it turns out we can! I didnt want the hassles of trying to convince Vicroads that the car was legal so this saves me a little bit of hassle.

Here are some pics to celebrate.

When I first got the car.

Now, 1 month later.

Yeah Ive still got the grill, not sure if I will put it on though. Its a lot harder to open with the regular EA grill as it fouls on the lever, Ill fix it up this weekend when I paint the bonnet.

Can't see the pics but good to see it's been registered with minimal fuss, unlike some of the stuff I've had to do for RWies.

So can I ride shotgun this cruise? :P

Its a nodose model :P

The VN airbox keeps everything nice and quiet apart from a small whistle. With a pod it was too feckin loud. It gets on boost too early to drive it quietly.

Yeah, thanks for that Damo, I would have taken it in for an inspection if you didnt say anything. That would have been a *****.

I just drove it for the first time. It turns out when the fuel level gets to 20 litres or so left the car runs like a bag of crap. I drove to Tiga El's joint and nearly didnt get home. I didnt know WTF was going on so I had a guess and filled it up and it was sweet again.

Its also not charging properly I dont think. The alternator is a good tested one. Might be a dodgy earth or a dodgy fixup of the fire damaged wires.

I also got home and the turbo was red hot. Is this right? Sunny is yours always red after a quick drive? None of my other cars ever looked like that but the turbo was always bigger. Maybe the timing is a bit retarded?

Ahh well, its still good :P

Nah not red after a quick drive ever anymore. That was when the timing was way retarded. That might be what they did with your tune, just retarded the timing.

How hard were you caning it Dan? :P

So do I get to ride shotgun on the cruise or what!! :P

My timing hasnt been touched since you saw it. Do you think that would cause it? I wasnt driving it hard, only 5psi.

Yeah you can be shotgun if the car runs alright. I need to get the crap out of the tank first.
