One of the foglights on my xr4 has cracked from a stone or something (just the bulb lense) and i've been advised that i have to buy the whole fog light panel (the grey plastic around the light fitting) and thats its gonna cost about $350..is there a cheaper alternative to fixing this or do i really have to buy the whole part?

Maybe claim it on Insurance if your excess is less than the $350 of course.
That's very expensive though, I wouldn't have thought they would be that much, but then again it's just the way everything is these days ..... "one big massive rip off!" Can you just get the glass out, take it to a glass merchant and get a new piece cut to size? Let us all know if you find another alternative. |

i've seen just the light section on some of the UK parts sites and on EBay.
heres one http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/fies...g_lamp_725.htm it would be 30pound for postage at a guess, so about $160 to your door If you can find one in europe the shiping will be a fair bit cheaper, it's more expensive to ship out of the UK than any other place on earth it seems.

Should be able to just replace the lense without the surround. Can you take a pic of the foglight?

its just the plastic that you see when looking at the car thats cracked - im just gonna leave it for a bit as its not all that noticeable and i dont use the foglights often enough to worry about it..well until i can afford to fix it |
