Default Finally happened...

Yeah.. busted third gear in my poor little T5. Overtaking some ****er and dropped back to third and give it a big footfull, and it wheelspun a little bit then BANG! and buzzed off the rev limiter.

Then started making the most horrible noises you've ever heard haha.

So.. who's got another victim.. I mean T5 for me?

You can pick EA-ED boxes for as little as $300 if you look hard enough, or you could just get a good old BTR 4 Spd. Those things last forever if Dan's car is anything to go by!

I'm supposed to be getting Dan's C4 off him. That will probably be the next trans to go in. Or if that falls through I'll try and locate something else.

I'd still like to get another T5 for cruising though. Anyone want to swap one for an EF LSD diff complete with axles?

Hey John I was wondering how long it would last... I know ed_sprint is selling a t5 which has new synchros and stuff in it but it needs an input shaft.. not sure if that helps you or not.

Don't really want to spend $2.5k on a T56 that has a fair chance of exploding all over the road!

Sunny is closer to the money. $750 seems to be about the going rate for a bare EB/ED T5.

Another option would be getting your T5 rebuilt - personally I wouldn't like to take my chances with a secondhand box.

If it's mainshaft 3rd gear you've busted I've got a box with a rooted 2nd gear. I think the cluster shaft is good, but I haven't pulled it out yet. Probably be a bit noisy when you start swapping gears between boxes though.
