Default Crank shaft bearings?

the second hand gearbox got put in today and I was told thet there was to much free play in the crank shaft and the bearings need replacing. Is it a big job?
Its making a ticking noise that sometimes goes away but sometimes is really loud is it something I should get fixed straight away or will it be ok for a while? Is there a quick fix that wont cost much?

I'm afraid it's an engine out job. There's not really much point in just doing the bearings, if they're that bad the rest of the motor wouldn't be far behind.

Time to visit your local engine reconditioner I think.

just get another motor.. You will find the CRANK will be stuffed.. THey had faulty cranks on the thrust faces, the bearings chew out a little, but the cranks chew out heaps
