strange when I was at the dealer there was an LX with alloy wheels and with Michelin tyres and the amount of balancing weights they used for the rims then I found heaps on the ground that has fallen off new vehicles!!

Hey Apstar,
When do you pick up your baby? It sounds like it has arrived at the stealership, but it's not quite ready for you to take home...

Hi Apstar, just curious - when did you order your Mondeo?

I ordered mine on 28/3 (MARCH FFS!!!!) and got my second confirmation last Friday that it is arrivng this Thursday...they'll need a few of days turnaround, so I'm looking most likely at early next week.

To give some credit to my dealer they did say it would be 3 to 4 months if they had to order the car. But I have been on these forums the past 4 months and reading the odd story about people getting their cars in two weeks or less!!!

Again to give the dealer the tiniest bit of credit, the first week or so after the order they called to offer me similar cars (differennt colours or optional extras) to my preferred choice but I rejected them all...

FYI it's a Sea Grey TDCi Hatch without any options at all....strange, after having a fully optioned Mazda 6 the last 3 years the last thing I wanted was another car with a Sunroof, Leather, Body Kit etc. I suppose it's a return to more basic motoring and reasonable ground clearance.

The only thing I might regret is not choosing the Bluetooth option. Not sure if I need it but it's the only option that tempted me at the time of ordering the car.

I wanted the latest build, but I had a brain explosion and ended up taking the car that was downstairs [I blame 2 tired kids and being sick of running around]. I should have brought my brother and father to help... Regardless, I am happy with the car.

I walked into Etheridge Ford to show the wife the XR5 Focus, she walked off in disgust mumbling something about a mid life crisis and f&^%ing rally cars, Andrew threw me the keys to his MondeoXR5, the wife and I went for a quick blast through the Ringwood / Warrandyte hills, the wife fell in love with it (Andrew knew she would). 6 days later I drove home in a brand new Mondeo XR5 that they had in stock. Happy as a PIS!

Well I was told (twice) that the car would be arriving today and ....it's here!

I have arranged to pick the car up on Tuesday...which will make it 4 months and 1 day from the date of purchase!

In my recollection of that day I think I remember ordering a Cortina it feels that long ago!

Good luck with the wait. I ordered my XR5 back at the start of March and it is due to arrive in Aussie land on August 7. I was origianlly told it would be here end June/start July but Ford must have had a fair few orders to get through (issues with strikes I think I read in the past?). It should be fine now. I'm getting sick of reading good stories about everyone elses car (!) but I'm quite sure, as any of the XR5 owners can tell you, the wait will be worth it.

Im wondering if a thin strip of beading like holds flyscreen to frame would do OK and look ok in black.
Keee it flush to glass, and not pushed rite in or rust may form under it.. not tha ti plane keepin tha car long enough to care

I hope I don't have to wait that long, as when I was told 3 months I thought that was just bearable enough. Out of interest what colour did you order, i ordered Sea Grey, the dealership offered me a few other colours and said i could have it in a week or so but i decided to stick with my first choice.
