Default 14.025 ET for BF XR6T Auto

Ok, I guess we are one of the first to post times for the new 6 speed auto - here it is:

WSID Wednesday 4 January 2006
BF XR6T Ute 6 Speed Auto
4,000 kms ODO
Temp 22C
ET 14.025
MPH 102

The Ute is absolutely stock and was run with normal tyre pressures, half tank of fuel, spare tyre, tailgate closed etc etc

Our method was to load up the revs to about 2,500rpm while the brake is on and then let it go - with a touch of wheel slip.

We ran out of time tonight but we reckon with 3,000-3,200rpm dialed up we could have easily gone into the 13's.

Interesting thought it would be a little better, what was your 60 foot time?
I would be careful of loading it up so much on the stall, it takes timing out of the car the truncation looks after the drivline...I found when stalling up my BA the 60 foot time was better around 1600 rpm, soon as I stood on the brake with lots of stall the 60 foot time went backwards...
Lucky with the Edit they can turn off this truncation ..

Will the ZF 6spd stall to 3200 rpm??

Not bad times, although I was expecting mid 13's with the new 6 speed.

What 60ft did you run?

Thats interesting.A stock auto stalling so high 2500 rpm....little wheelspin?? Something seems a bit odd about that.I thought you would fry the tyres at that stall speed..I do so this is why I am curious about that.

Good time though......

SWMBO's BF XRT 6 speed auto struggles to to stall up to 2500rpm however it gets off the mark better when held at around 1800rpm

congrats on a good time (especially with the ute's extra weight)

60 foot time = 2.223

The run was at WSID in Sydney on a cool and overcast night.

I have stalled the 6 speed up to 4,000 rpm without wheel spin so 3,000 is easy.

I do agree with what you say about the factory computer but at the end of the day you have to get the car on boost to launch and run a decent time.

We will be modding the car over the next few months so stay tuned.

I was at WSID last night too, I stalled my car up to 2300 with standard convertor. with 2.045 60ft's. When i stalled up too 1600 in most of my previous outings the best 60s were 2.097. Times dropped from 13.7 down to 13.509. at 101.97mph
Also my 60ft's on SP3000 were 2.097 with the standard diff. so getting your 60'ft,s down will make a huge difference.

ok here is the proceduce pay atention its complicated

start motor
select drive(must be bf 6 speed auto by the way)
left foot on brake (hard)
right foot on throttle
apply pressure and build revs slowly
once desired revs build up release brake flatten gas and hang on.

I am making the assumption (not knocking anyone here) that there is a problem or the car is not stock.

With the car not making its VS calculation, and seeing rpm climb above 2900, the transmission safety protocol will see this car drop into limp mode, ( auto gear indicator on dash flashing and car locked in 3rd gear.)

The car will also log a code. The other issue that befuddles be is why an engine which at best will make 210rwkw will push a converter so high?

The ET and MPH make sense, the methods and startline behaviour seems peculiar and not indicative of a standard car.

I need a bit more practice before you hammer me at Heathcote.

Good going Rich, I think you were the only one at WSID that got a PB.
