Angry How's this for fuel prices!!!

Today on the way back from thought I'll put a bit of juice in. Pull up at the pump and;
$1.599 per litre for Shell 100 ULP.

Just hurts the wallet. On average this fuel has been hovering around $1.35 pL-$1.45 pL. This is just insane.

This is at Shell servo, cnr Warrigal & Centre-Dandenong Roads in Cheltenham.

Damn, that's the worst I've heard of. I still use 98 Octane in my cars but only because the cost difference between 91 and 98 (in percentage terms) is less than it was.

I wonder how the LPG guys are finding it...

60.9cpl here in Warrnambool for Gas. funny thing is between local prices here and melbourne, melbournes fuel is more expensive than here, yet gas is cheaper.

i think it because people believe regardless of price per barrel, the oil companies are taking advantage of consumers by playing the musical chairs with the prices, personally i think they are.

A bit off topic but mum told me last week that when she was 18 (35 years ago) she was paying 0.10 cent per litre, thats $6.50 to fill up a full tank of one of our E-series Falcons. Interesting how times change for the bad........

altho it was cheap then, compared to today wit more cars, airplanes, public transport and other things using fuel, you do start to chew threw the resorces, and the barrel becomes more expensive, i think in time well get use to paying these kind of prices, cause one day theres not goin to be anymore left for us if we keep goin like this

im not saying that were using to much, just that theres an end to all things

these vehicles already exist, trouble is they or the rights were all bought up by the oil companys , so they could keep on sellin petrol.

All you Melbourne people have to remember is fuel goes up every Wednesday. Fill up Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning and you'll get it when it's cheapest.

I keep an eye on stuff like this now because I do so many k's for work. Every Wed without fail, it will shoot up to around 143.9 then later in the day it goes down to about 139.9. By the next Tuesday it's down around 130.9 again.

I was lucky this morning I got it before it went up. 129.9 from Shell on cnr of Ferntree Gully Rd and Springvale Rd.

Very handy tip to know sphell. None the less if I want to fuel the Wagon from dead empty to full right at the cap will set me back anywhere between $109.00 to $115.00 (72 litre tank).

gas 43.9 @ united in Kings Way = 68 l for $29.92
It has been odd because normally gas is much cheaper in the 'burbs (I live in the city) so im used to paying 4 - 6cpl more than other people. Still, i'm happy things have been more competitive here.
My consumption = 17 - 18l/per 100km, u do the math

It's costing me about $30 a day to get to work and back, and that's with fuel at 139.9 (98ron).

Well, I am sure he and the government have an influence on the taxes and other charges applied on the current fuel prices.
