Default Old classified ads

Just flicking through an old Autotrader magazine from 2000 that I found while cleaning out the shed. Only 20 years ago prices were still bloody cheap for the classics!!!

Yeah, things went stupid for houses and cars about 20 years ago.

Damn, I could have bought that zc fairlane for about the same as I paid for my EA back in 1998. I think I paid $3600 for the EA just to get to Sydney and back reliably for a fun drive.
My life would have been 90% better if I just went for the fairlane back then (one of my fav fords of all time).

I had too much money wrapped up in to many other projects back then, like my 1990s bought mazda rx3 (bought $1400, worth 60k now if I still had it), my rx4 (bought $1300, worth 25k now if I still had it). But of course as a 25 y/o I didn't have a garage, a workshop, a driveway or a house yet so the cars and everything of value had to go in the end anyway

Can confirm that was a normal price for a ZC 302.
Still regret to this day not buying a very straight green one for that exact price around that time.

Bought an EA instead.

Wow, another member of "could have bought a cheap ZC but decided on a dumb EA instead" club. Besides not buying a house for $130k, or getting rid of my rx spazdas during a fire sale when I lost everything, the lack of ZC is my biggest regret.

Yeah I know there was better cars for not much more back then that would be worth stupid money right now. But I only regret things I was genuinely thinking back then but didn't do - not what I should have done back then if I had a time machine or knew more than what I actually wanted at the time.

Did you try calling just in case they still have it for that price?

20 years after that I bought an XY Falcon 500 6, black with black trim, Cheviot rims, 4sp auto and buckets for $2450.00

That car is now the Jesus Racing XY you see racing in the Touring Car Masters (the front half is at least)
