Mercedes-Benz has revealed that its new four-tier C-Class Cabriolet range will priced from $85,900 before on-road costs.
The range kicks off with the C200 which is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 135kW and 300Nm and is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Standard kit for the C200 includes metallic paint, 18-inch alloy AMG wheels, leather upholstery, AMG body styling, sports suspension, driving mode options, in-built Garmin navigation, digital radio, electric front seats with memory function and wood trim.

Standard safety gear includes anti-collision assist with auto braking, blind spot warning, driver attention warning, active bonnet and a 360-degree view camera.
The C200 misses out on Mercedes-Benz's Airscarf neck-level heating system, which is an optional extra.
Next model up is the C300 which is priced from $99,900 and is powered by the same engine as the C200 but has been uprated to produce 180kW and 370Nm.
In addition to the standard kit found on the C200 the C300 gains 19-inch AMG alloy-wheels, a Burmester stereo, Comand navigation, heated front seats, keyless ignition, sports exhaust and Airscarf.
Additional safety gear includes cross traffic alert, lane keep assist and active blind spot assist.
The Mercedes-AMG C43 Cabriolet is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol unit that produces 270kW and 520Nm.
It also gains AMG sports suspension and all-wheel drive over the C300.
The range tops out at the C63 which utilises the brand's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that produces 375kW and 700Nm and can sprint from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds, and is priced from $179,900.
Extra kit includes 19- or 20-inch AMG alloy-wheels, electronic rear axle locking differential, AMG brakes, AMG performance exhaust, Nappa leather upholstery and digital TV tuner.

Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet revealed
New performance drop-top breaks cover at the New York motor show.

Mercedes-Benz has continued its model assault at the New York motor show by unveiling a new high-performance convertible - the Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet.
One of five debuts at the US show, the cabriolet represents the final anticipated piece of the C-Class puzzle, which now extends to 12 individual variants.

The cabriolet is fitted with the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine as its C63 coupe and sedan stablemates, paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. In Australia, it is expected only the higher tune C63 S will be offered – meaning maximum outputs of 375kW and 700Nm. An additional 125kg worth of weight over the coupe increases the drop-tops 0-100km/h sprint time from 3.9 seconds to 4.1 seconds; total kerb weight is 1925kg.
Underscoring the performance credentials are staggered wheel widths, adaptive suspension, an electronic limited-slip differential and dynamic engine mounts.
Flared wheel arches make contribute to a front that is 64 millimetres wider at the front and 66 millimetres wider at the rear compared with the standard C-Class cabriolet.

"The C-Class is a decisive factor in our company's success. The new combination of intensive open-air ambience and powerful V8 engine is unique in the segment and perfectly supplements our large C-Class range," said Mercedes-AMG chief executive Tobias Moers
The cabriolet's major point of difference is a fabric soft top that can be raised or lowered at speed of up to 50km/h (if initiated below 5km/h). As with its other convertibles, Mercedes-Benz will offer a range of optional equipment including its airscarf neck-level heating or the aircap draught-stop.
Mercedes says the multi-layered roof incorporates various insulation materials to effectively reduce ambient noise. Frameless doors, fully retractable side windows and the absence of a visible B-pillar complete the cabriolet's distinctive features.
The cabriolet's boot measures 355 litres with the roof up and 260 with it folded, a decrease on its coupe and sedan counterparts.
The new model will land in Australian showrooms in December – just in time for Summer - where it will be priced from at least $162,000 (plus on-road costs), the current price of the equivalent coupe.
