Default Centre cap!! Need some help!!!

Just got my rims changed by the dealer which was in the agreement when i bought the car that the rims will be replaced as they were totally guttered. Anyways got them changed on the weekend and today when i got home from work noticed the centre cap (rear drivers side) had either fallen off or got stolen. I always have a good look at my car before i take off so i'm leaning more towards the fallen off theory as the grease cap is gone as well.....

anyways where can i get the centre cap for my rims. they have my beloved tickford symbol on them..they are 17inch tickfords..the ones that are found on AUII..how much am i looking at!!

thanks a bunch yet again!!

very odd mate as theyre quite a bitch to get out, impossible without taking the wheel off anyway, so this leads me to believe that it was not put in properly

for 1 tickford centre cap your up for about $75! ing_sm

Fraid Falkeen is right, they're not cheap.

And it does seem very odd that one would fall out. Check your wheel nuts too!

Try checking the part number database for the number, although any half decent Parts guy will be able to find it on Microcat for you.

Do your caps have their spring clips on 'em? (The spring steel ring around the back of 'em which secures em into the groove in the wheel)

Yep still definately available from Ford, try Tyre shops or even www.wheelking.com.au, I know that Rare Spares also carry stuff like this but it is usually more expensive than what Ford charge (and thats saying something).

Yeah you are right, they are a reasonably cheap item to produce and Ford make a killing from them when they sell one. But again I do find it odd one would just fall out like that.

In that case i reckon the little springclips around them are probably stuffed, because they are mainly responsible for holding them in. I dont think you can get these from Ford either without having to buy the whole cap.

Buying generic center caps and adding Ticky badges is a possibility but I think you'd need to do all of them that way - it'd be very easy to pick one out if you did it.

I had a set of aftermarket caps on the EF I had a few years ago and someone had wrapped the clips in electrical tape as the springs were stuffed as well, you could try that ?

undefined i brought an AU III XR6 about 2 months ago and 3 of the centre caps were missing. The Ford car yard got me the replacements, at no cost, and I put them on the other day and I've lost the rear passenger side one on the weekend. This has got me wondering, could there be a problem with my rims that makes them spit out? All my driving is done on freeways. I was very careful putting them on, new 2nd hand car and all, and one still has gone buy buys. The remaining 3 are as tight as a thumb in a b-m. yes I agree, the car looks crap without all 4 on, though mine are not tickford centres, only Ford.

I thought thay all go on from the inside and can not come out from the front of the wheel, even if your clip comes off, it will just fall inwards not outwards onto the road ???
