Hi .
I am looking at trying out some drag radials.I have never used them and know nothing about them. The tyres have to be street legal. So fare i am looking at MT ET Streets and BF Goodrich Drag radials. Any feed back from users of either tyres would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.....PLUKA

They may say DOT approved but thats U.S..

I didnt know they are not legal in Australia? I just had a look at the NT05. I only have the old school 15" rims..... Any other suggestions

There is only one drag radial to use for racing and that is Mickey Thompson Street ET. BF Goodrich are crap.

the M/T ET Streets are the way to go. they aren't DOT approved here, 99.99% of Police won't know anyway.

I cant imagine the life of a ET street would be great on the road. If they were warm and you were on some rough road and loaded it up, $600 would be left behind.
or are they actually okay?

I believe Toyo proxes TQ are street legal but not recommended for wet weather

325 Goodyear on my ute, cops only picked on them because of size. Don't wear to bad about 2000km on them but never been to a track(bought to build tray around). DON'T drive in the wet. Spin at 60km in 4th without trying and the same at 70km in 5th very dangerous. But sticky in the dry, clutch dump in driveway and car only moved a metre and my mate put his foot on the tyre to see how grippy they are and his thong was stuck to the tyre lol.

Thanks for all the info guys.
Shall research them all and see what is available. While i have been looking around i read on a forum where a guy in a nissan or supra had the tyres ( MT Radials ) inspected by vic main roads and they where passed.......Maybe true maybe false. dont know

If your going to go with the MT Radials, just be wary driving on wet roads, it is dangerous.

We sold an old set of MT's off the wifes drag car to a mate who used them at Heathcote. He didn't take them off after and drove it home. He said they were horrible on the road. He said they were brilliant for drifting as they have bugger all lateral grip and they didnt last the week.

I have always driven to and from the track on et street radials ... Never any issues , just inflate to 30psi for street use and drive carefully in the wet !

If you want the tyres for straight line traction, MT ET radials and nothing else.
we do 10's on 235/60/15 radials ! Remember they are just a grooved radial slick. They don't pretend to be good in the wet, or go round corners etc.

M't radials are fine in the rain as long as you dont drive like an idoit.
They hook up well aswell |

I have he goodyear drag radials on my xt and they are very good i have had the MT as well and they are very good as well i would by both again

Iv tried alot of these tires over the yrs and basically all the drag radials are terrible on the street. i'n the rain i was cruising at 80kms and it started to spit rain next thing i know the back passed the front and shoot me into a median strip not cool when i had my 6 yr old with me
I now run the mt sr radials they are hands down the best tyre iv ran. my xr is 600hp and if i let the pressure down to mid 20s i can hook it up on the street and they are great i'n the wet |
