Default My Date with the Brick Wall..... :-(

Last week as i was leaving for work i happened to come in contact with the house. I was backing around dads BA and was too busy watching to see if i wasn't going to hit that when i hear a loud noise.

The end result is below in the photos.

I was quoted $250 for the removal and resray of the damaged area, this was also mates rates.

Ive bought some "touch up paint" from AutoBarn that will cover the paint thats missing.

Does $250 sound like a good deal, or do you just think i touch it up and leave the dint?

meh just touch it up. Make sure you put plenty of effort into it though.

I scraped my rear passenger door once (LARGE scrape) and used touch-up paint & cut/polish stuff. Repeated the process for several hours until it was hardly noticable.

Just give that blemish some TLC

Pay the 250. Then you can lay the blame on someone else if it's a sh_t job! Plus if they respray the whole panel it'll cover up any other chips or blemishes.

$250 is cheap for that. There's a bugger load of labour in it.

Ohhhhh bit of an oops eh.... I know how that can happen though..
mine was a tree lol

I personally think pay the $250 so its done and you can forget about it.. but then its up to you if you want to pay that much.
All you need to ask yourself is can you live with knowing the dent is there even after adding the touch up paint ??

i hate bricks. i have a big scrape underneath the drivers door. luckily you cant see it unless you actually get down there, its right on the edge.

i was backing out around a tree in a front yard and ran over the bricks which were concealed by grass!

Back when the car was dads we were at Smiths Beach (Phillip Island) and he backed into one of those poles that are shorted than the car so they are really hard to see. It took paint off the bumper as well as snap a section of it, causing it to bludge on the side and not sit correctly.

I'll give them 250 to do mine, i got quoted 800 for something similar. Honestly it's not worth a month of sundays and late nights to come out with a second rate job. I've been there before and done that, you end up saving a few bucks afterwards but it's just not worth the time.
