Hey guys. I don't think I've ever posted here, but I've just done the unthinkable and bought an EF. I've changed Jobs, and I don't need to commute as much as I did (I'm still going to be there, but not as much...). Because of this, I'm selling my Brother my Mazda6, and replacing it with an EF XR6. I couldn't find a Manual, and my Wife is useless behind the wheel of one anyway, so I'm back to my first (and favorite) Ford. I'll throw some pictures up when I get it, but I thought I would say hello here first. It has a couple of problems, but I'll get to them later.
For now, I'll just warn you that I might be asking a few questions. Andrew.

I'll get pics when I get the car. I pick it up on Tuesday, so I'll have to take it through the National Park and get some decent shots, maybe Wednesday or Thursday.
For now, how about this: . I plan to join both the OzECruisers club, and the NSW Tickford club. I can't wait to get this. I really am stoked about it.

I just thought I'd add this here, it has got a mod planned for next weekend. Something clear, and on AU Falcons.
It needs a couple of things for the interior, one being an Ash tray (which is broken), and a new Volume knob for the radio. If you know where I can source these parts, let me know.

Thanks Lisa.
I pick it up this evening, so expect some pictures once the car arrives, and when I get two seconds; probably Tomorrow or Wednesday. Only Seven hours to go.

Welcome aboard mate, car looks great. Is your plan AU clear repeaters? You should contact RATMAN instead as he was making actual EF repeaters in clear.

SGTBourne - thanks anyway, but I've sourced one from a Wrecker. I did that yesterday, before I saw your message.
As for the car... Well, I can't keep the smile off my face. I had to bring it to work today (didn't I?) to see how it goes on the open road. It cruises better and quieter than my Territory, so I'm expecting better fuel economy numbers, and for a car that hasn't been driven since November (apparently), it has enough go in its stale fuel for what I need. I've just got to get the hang of the shifter (the Territory stops at D, and the Mazda is a 'trap' design, but also stops at D). I couldn't work out why the car wouldn't go into third last night, but it was locked in 2. My car has the Casette tape in it from when it was New. I haven't heard that since my Dad had his EA Ghia, but it brings back memories of me shouting at the car "I can't read the manual, the car's AUTOMATIC". Pictures to come this afternoon. I really am stoked with this car, and once I fix a few things up, the car will be fantastic (not that it isn't). Andrew.

Andrew, What do you mean it cruises better and quieter than the Territory, the better economy comment I can accept ;)
Glad it was the Mazda that went and the Terri will stay a bit longer. Nothing wrong with an E-series. I hung onto mine (ED) for 10 years until the Territory came along, I just couldn't see the point in trading it for an AU or even BA. Gunmetal Grey is real nice too

good stuff mate, assuming the engine is healthy etc you should get round 9L/100K from memory, i get 7L/100K but that's also cos its a 5spd manual. but u shouldnt be too far behind (depending on how far your boot is in to it)

Rob - It has harder suspension in it, and isn't as rolly-polly, especially on my favorite road (not), the F6, from Waterfall to Bulli. I also have more over taking power to get past the trucks on Mt Ousley, and then nip into Wollongong before the Uni kids line up. I was going into Figtree in the Mazda. I do miss the Setup in the Territory, however. Climate control is going to be hard to live without... Maybe another Mod!
Now, without Further Ado, my Falcon XR6. I can't believe how much I love this car.
