So my Fairlane is W6/Amaretto and I've noticed that after a while the paint on the bonnet goes hazy. I thought it was the clearcoat failing, but polishing it seems to remove the chalkiness as if it was a single stage paint.
I've seen a lot of the blue/purple AUs with peeling clearcoat, but the other W6 cars just seem to fade like mine did. Does anyone know if Ford used clearcoat on all AU's or were some colours a single stage paint?

Not all AU's have clear coat. A1 winter white is acrylic gloss. I think red, yellow, green, the base colours etc', don't need clear coat, probably others too.
Metallic or pearl paint jobs require clear. |
