Exclamation Mobile Phone Numbers Go Public next month

This is for Australian phone numbers!

REMEMBER: Mobile Phone Numbers Go Public next month.

REMINDER all mobile phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls.

Below is a link where you can enter your phone numbers online to put an end to telemarketing calls

https://www.donotcall.gov.au/

This was sent to me by email, not sure if its correct or not. Posted just incase it is genuine.

I've only ever received telemarketing calls on my mobile. Don't anymore now that it's on the do not call list.
Must be an old e-mail that's still circulating.

I've just registered. I have been out of the country for 12 months. Came back yesterday and re-fitted my old sim card. Today get a call from a telemarketer asking some questions regarding Herald Sun. WTF?! Was wondering how the hell they got my no and now I know?

We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

Technically, it's not a hoax as that web site is genuine and an Australian Do Not Call Register does exist.
The part that is the hoax is the releasing of mobile phone numbers.

Signed up to the do not call register some 12 months back, now receive more calls than before, from charities - whom of course are exempt from being restricted.

For some, its best not to register.

NB - A VOIP number I also have, interstate, used for incoming calls does not ever get any telemarketing or charity calls.
