Unhappy Standard CD player Removal...... HELP!!

Hi, i am new to the forums. after owning my 2001 AU2 XL ute for 2 months now the cd player has decided to stop playing cd's. so i have got my self a new one. i just cant get the original one out! there is a technical resource page that says to use a two pronged tool..? i havnt got one, does it come with the car when new? any way is there a way to get the cd player out without this tool? (keeping in mind that i dont care if i damage the original unit as its stuffed) i am going insane with this stupid thing, i mean honestly why so hard to get out? who honestly steals a stock base model cd player anyway?!?!?!?!? help!!!

the service manual explains it if you have one. I used a wire coathanger bent in a U shape. Push it into the holes, jiggle it around a bit and if you're lucky it might dislodge the clip. The tool itself is nothing special, just a bit of wire.
