Default Wheels from the US

Hey Guys,
Has anyone bought any mags over from the US ?
How do you go with ADR - Australian Design Rules - How do you know if it complies ? It's just pretty tempting now with the US dollar at 90c now, huge range too.

About $200, it will only be 4 square boxes. My only concern is not being able to use them on the street.... legally.

Ummmmmm what size are you looking at and what car are you putting them?

IIRC over 2inchs above std is unrwc without engineers

Our wheels (19" intro billets) were imported from the US made specifically for our car. We got our rims through Stan at All Street wheels. He imports a load at a time and measures correct offsets etc. No problems with illegality. They were not cheap but was still cheaper than getting the same wheels made in Aus and they are top quality.

Over 2" above standard will not be legal where ever the wheels come from.

Poorboy_racer = Gangsta..........with his pimped ride.........

Very Nice........

Question though, why did you have to have wheels custom made with the 10,000's of rims available in the US with the same PCD 5x114.3 and even same offset for BA rims

You can even get "0" offset 5x114.3 which can fit on e-series

We found a Boze rim we liked, but was actually cheaper to get Intro to custom make a copy of them. We really wanted the center more domed to give a wider rim width but would have had issues with the brake calipers if we had, as aftermarket Brembos would not have fitted. Will probably end up with Willwards anyway (they do a slim caliper and I think Black will look better). They took 10 weeks to get made and shipped over. They actually had them made quite quickly (two weeks I think) but we had to wait until there was a good number of wheels for shipping. Also looked at some (made in Australia) Dragway billets but they were a lot more expensive (have to keep Rochell Splat in her top fueler, she and husband own dragway )

what kind of wheels are you looking for?

I'll be at the SEMA show in two weeks and apparently there is a great deal of wheels to look at...

No, Not a firm quote, but I had a similar sized box bought over for around $50....

I'm looking at either 16 or 17" 8-9" wide. They're to go on my XA coupe so they will have to have a pretty deep offset

Mate, I really don't know. I do like the superlites, & globes, but just keeping my options open. Must be shiney, and deep offset
