Default help- ef drivers electric window

just brought a ef xr8 ,come home today went to put window up and bang window came back down ,took door trim off and cable is still intack but the spring has broken, how the f#*k does the cable come off so i can get a new one tommorrow.
any help pleaseeeeee.

you can't take the cable off, you need to buy a whole new regulator.
i had the cable go on 3 different windows in my ED Fairmont. they're not cheap either.

correct buy a new reg, or try a wrecker one, when you get it, you will see how to replace it.

they're quite easy to fit. they have some seriously big Rivits holding them in. you'll have to drill them out. don't worry if you cant get rivits big enough to replace them (or a rivit gun for that matter) just use some short M6 allen head screws with a spring washer>

did the trick on my 3 windows!

you can replace the cable.
pull the regulator apart and make sure whats broken has broken, if you can get the cable off then you're laughing.
i thought my cable had broken but it ended up being the plasic clip that holds it to the window bracket, repaired and was back on my way.

pull apart completely before buying a new one

These things always break, glad I got manual windows really as its hardly any effort. and manual is better in races :P
