Default ZF Based Ford 6R80 6-speed Auto run's into the 8-sec zone!

check out the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Yxekmav2eQ

these Ford built auto's are based on the ZF 6HP26 boxe's that you will see in the Falcon's. this was the first GT into the 8's, done it back in May last year, proven box is used by many many vehicles in the US running well into the 9's and even now the 8's. 6R80 conversion anyone?

a breakdown of the ZF6HP26 6R80 http://www.makcotransmissionparts.co...df/ZF6HP26.pdf

6R80 is same trans in the ranger and territory

Built options could be useful in the future.

sure is, Exedy already sends the clutches down here and they make a billet shaft for these boxes, a mate just did a built one, going into a beast of a Territory. here is a video of a 6R80 being torn down spent a year in a drag car, did over 90 passes with 1000rwhp, how did the box come out
goes for over 30mins http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gj4lNwYIxPw

So, if we were to get a built box from there and put our mechatronics on it will it work with our cars?

not 100% sure will get back to you.

if they are compatible, the only killer might be the ZF tuning, SCT back in 2010 designed the software for tuning the 6R60/6R80 not sure if the Territory with the 6R80 can have the box tuned using the Aussie SCT.

May need to ask Rob Herrod.

Have you priced their billet shafts?

Yes, they bite hard, too hard in fact so I had Spiro soften it up in the tune.

Full throttle shifts are spot onl and so far I cannot fault the trans build or the tune.

What power level are you at?

Stg. 2 is what I would get if I were you.

I got them at a staff rate so can't really share.

I got a price off motorspec, fairly pricey compared to how much they are posted from the states even with our falling dollar. I would like to support an aussie company wven if they were a little more expensive but a saving is a saving.
