Default Slimline or regular plates for EA-ED?

Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on which type of plate to get?

Im getting regular plates for now. Does everyone go normal size on the back and slimline on the front? Or slimline all round?

I still dont know where the front plate can mount to yet.

Nah Im getting standard issue plates. Im not too keen on spending $500 on custom plates atm.

That money can be spent on a cam and valve springs, water and oil lines

I paid $165 last year, but I think it's gone up to $195. Just ask for past/future issue plates.

you can get slimline, then mount them in a nice looking full size plate protector. As long as you centralise them, you get the nicer font of the slimline plate, and it appears to fill the void. Not sure of the legalities - but i'd go for slimline over to the passenger side of the bumper.

You can get pop plates (different colour re-issued standard plates) for about $100, or initials and year for about $200, words for $395, only the very short plates or custom mix cost $495.

I was thinking AIT6 would be alright but I like the idea of AIT666 or AIT747 in regular vicroads colours.

Yeah but AIT666 or AIT747 would be $200 cheaper than those. $100 cheaper if you want them in a colour other than blue on white. Or would A be green on white?

Naw AIT will be green on white, I forget the exact range but if they came out as green and white they get issued as green and white, not blue and white.

Sorry Dan, my card is maxed out!

If only they'd let me get VHC302. Ah well.

oh yeh sorry they're re-issues.. yeah they'll be green

also they may let you pick your colour for the re-issue with the 'pop plate' scheme they have now. You can pick whatever colour you want on current plates.. so i guess they'd let you pick the colour you wanted for an extra $99

Think you can, will probably set you back the $99 though.

Turbo Tony got in trouble for offset mounting his plates.
They have to be above a certain height.
from memory its one of those things where it depends who checks your car, he got in **** for it from 1 person, then the next person said it was fine aslong as it was high enough.
