Gday guys and gals,
My AU xls has recently started flashing a little red light at me everytime i drive it that is getting on my nerves, it the little water bottle light that mean low coolant level. I've checked my levels and they were fine but I topped it up anyway, the lights still comes on after about a minute of driving everytime. Sometimes it will go away for a while then reappear. Just wondering where the sensor is that takes this measurement and if that could possibly be the problem, and if so how could I fix it? Cheers for any help Michael |

Ive had the symbol come up in the past and my immediate thought was the radiator level. It turned out to be the water level in the windscreen water bottle.

The low level coolant sensor, will give you a red warning light, that looks like a little fan.
Low washer bottle fluid, is an orange symbol that looks like windscreen wippers funnily enough lol. Shouldn't be that confusing lol

The float in the header tank will be waterlogged.
You can buy a new sensor that screws in to the tank ( $45 ) or if your tank is discoloured buy a complete unit for about $100 off e-bay |

Is it plugged in? The light only flashes when it's unplugged or damaged. If it's just not reading properly it would be a solid light.

I found this in another section
"Between the battery and the suspension tower you will find a round plug, This plug is used on Series 1 AU for the coolant level sensor! Ford used a loop plug to cancel this but the earth goes bad so it needs to be upgraded! Find the Yellow with Red stripe wire and make a connection to the Negative on the Battery." Anyone tried this ??? |

Hi I have this problem on my AU2 ute
It doesn't have the sensor on the filler bottle,I found a mention of a modification to the wiring to eliminate the false warning flashing. It mentions a plug and yellow wire with a red trace between the Battery and suspension tower but I cannot find it. Where is the damn wire! Help anyone?? |
