Got these pictures in an e-mail today, and instantly fell in love with this dog.
Does anyone know what breed this dog is? |

Funnily enough, the e-mail came through as "this is NOT a panda, it's a puppy"

Its a Chow Chow. My mates got one called "Coco", Shes beautiful and has a blue tongue as well. Shes got red fur though.
Chow Chows dont come cheap, Coco cost my mate around $1 large to buy. Yeah, pretty lucrative. They dont have a loud bark, they sound like they're coughing, and they snore like a 50 year old with sleep apnea. Oh and you cant really train them either. But i'd hand over the dosh and have one tommorrow if I saw one at the pet shop. For Sure. I got plenty of trees for a Panda to play in. |

1 large dollar .... that's cheap.
I am presuming $1K. Pretty much any decent pure-bred pup will cost you in the vicinity of $1K ... more in shops as well.

Thanks Slim and Danny.
They're a big dog too, which is what I want. I'll have to keep an eye out for one now. Danny, any idea where your friend got it from? |

Ya, that's some sort of chow. And they get BIG!!!! Friend used to have 3 of the things and a newfoundlan (spelling?)... was like a zoo at that place... they dont do much, dont say much, dont play much... they just prance around and sleep... great dogs tho.
IIRC they were about $700 a pop, but that was many moon ago....

1) Silent. Will not bark unless something distrubs them 2) Sloths. Will not move unless something makes them. However, will have a 5 minute burst per day where they go nuts, but thats it. 3) Can be aggressive and snappy. Not child recommended!. Generally a one owner type dog. Has an overbite jaw so has a very potent bite. However generally either inactive or asleep. 4) Only dog that has a blue tongue. Comes in Red, Blue and black. Have never seen the colour of the one in the pic. 5) Medium sized. One I have know was a fair size, but generally all medium size and weight. All round a great dog, but does have idiosyncrosies you must consider. They cannot be trained nor changed. They are what they are.

All very true. They really dont have much in the way of personality. So cute though.
And pearly, I'm not sure where my mate got the dog from, i'd have to ask for you |

I went to a school where one of the brothers bred these dogs. The can get smelly, and they need a cool place to go in summer. They adapted well to having pats from 500 kids and kicks from 500 more.
