Bit of help please?
I finally got around to putting a crankshaft pulley seal in only to get stuck tryin to remove teh crankshaft pulley itself. I cant rememba how i did it last time eitha. I got a removal kit, one of those ones with three bolts and a triangle thing with one big bolt in the middle to push in so the crankchaft pulley pops out. So i managed to get it about an inch out and then it just goes real tight and refuses to budge. ANy attempt to force it just turns the crankshaft and moves the whole car (i put in gear)! AM i using it wrongly or is it just stuck. Anyone else do this? |

Normally they just pop straight out fairly easily. If you haven't already tried, it might be worth pushing it back on and trying it again.

I take the bolt half way out, then use the puller. As Injected250 said I wouldnt want to use the puller right against the crank thread - you might never get the bolt back in.

oh i just gave it another pull (lol) so i levered the removal tool and pulled it off. Looks like its the big bolt that goes thru the triangle thing thats actually stuck and bits of th thread have damage on it so i guess thats what it is. Was VERY bad fitting even when i pulled it out of the box. Gonna have to try using someone else tool.

We must have two different bolts cause you cant remove the washer with the one off my car. It dosnt matter anyway, the bolt that pushes in has a snub nose thing on the end so it dosent catch onto the thread. Turns out the problem was with the bolt siezing in the allignment tripod bolt holding thing. Thanks though |
