Default Ford Extended Warranty Offered by Ford in Sep 2009

Ford Motor Company offered "My Ford" 2-year extended warranty on the existing 3-year warranty on 10-12 Sep 2009. It is basically 5 year of factory warranty all up not tied to any dealer.

I purchased a new Ford during those 3 days to take advantage of that. I certainly want to make sure that I get that 2 more years of warranty. I need to be able to prove that if I sell my car within the first 5 years or have any warranty claims after 3 years.

Here are 3 stories I got:

- The dealer: there is no more extra documentation. It will be registered in Ford's database.
- Asked Ford over email: The dealer should provide the details of the cars that were sold during those 3 days and Ford will register those cars in its database with 2 more year of warranty
- Ford over the phone: Ford gave me a courtesy call today about my purchase and I asked about the extended warranty. The guy went and checked saying that I should get the extended warranty certificate in the mail soon.

Not sure if anyone on the forum purchased a new Ford during those 3 days in September. If yes, has anyone received anything? Has anyone heard any story about it?

You will recieve a certificate from Ford, (how long it takes ?????) Most of warranty's are being loaded onto Ford's Service System, your dealers service dept should be able to give you a print out.
Cheers

Back in 2004 i purchased a BA XR6T which came with extended warranty and the warranty certifcate came with the car, but that was possibly because it was ex demo with 8000kms and not brand new.

Just to let people know how this has progressed.... I waited patiently...

I bought my Ford Mondeo on 15/09/2009. I received a confirmation letter of the myFord extended warranty on 8/12/2009. The letter was dated 4/12/2009.

So, just under 3 months after the purchase, I got the confirmation letter.

Still waiting here. Bought my ute under the 200,000km/5yr extended warranty offer. 13FORD told me the dealer had to register the ute as being bought under the promotion and the dealer said it was done. So I'm waiting for a sign from the gods...

The way it used to work is that you would get some documentation, and ford would register the information in their system (VIS i think).

A dealer should be able to access the warranty information on the system using your sido.
