Looking at getting a 2nd run around car for the family. We have a SY 2007 Territory that will do most of the heavy lifting.
I'm still deciding what 2nd car I want. Whether I want a Fiesta, Focus or even a Falcon. At the end of the day the car will mostly be used to either drive to a train station about 3 days a week and other 2 days to drive to the Melb CBD (60km round trip to CBD, 40km round trip to station). Basically a Fiesta Zetec is very cheap for me to get via my company. For extra $30 a fortnight I can get a Focus Ambiente. Extra $53 on top of fiesta I can get the Focus Trend. I was looking at the sport but after seeing the price I can basically get a Falcon G6 ecolpi for the same price which is $86 a fortnight on top of the Fiesta. All these prices are inclusive of fuel and running costs, so I don't care about litres per 100km, etc. I've driven a focus sport and thought it was a pretty nice drive.. so I assume the trend would drive the same. I assume the ambiente is a similar engine to the fiesta so not sure how that would go. Just wondering if anyone has driven a fiesta zetec and compared that to the new focus ambiente. |

You'll find the Trend model is a step down in driveability, as it sits on smaller tyres, and lacks the Sport models Sports Tuned Sunpension.
I have driven a Trend Focus, and I own a WS Fiesta Zetec. While the Focus has the Fiesta licked when it comes to interior space, and built quality, and in some cases features, for pure fun factor, the Fiesta reins supreme IMHO.

Your best option is to make a list of the cars of interest and make the time to test drive each one and make your own decision. Everyone's opinions will differ and that usually makes the buyers choice even more confusing.

Thanks Danny and Russ, Yes will definitely test drive them. Plan to test drive a fiesta zetec tomorrow. I have already driven a G6 and love how they drive. But I ask myself do I really need it.
But I also just wanted to get opinions from owners as well. |

If it's only to run up to the train station you would probably only need the Fiesta. In saying though the Falcon would be cheaper to get parts for etc.
They are all good cars

test drove a fiesta CL 6 speed auto today as that was the car that was easily accessible for a test drive. This dealer also let me go and test it on my own which was much better than the last two dealers who came with me. I was very impressed and since I'm talking about the fiesta, I'll go and post more about it in the fiesta forum.
