Default need carby help 32/36 weber

gday
i have a 78 escort van, 2 litre and im having real trouble getting it to run right. Im only 17 and im a bit out of my depth here so any help would be appreciated. I can get it to start, and run, it idles fine, but when u give it a quick stab on the throttle, i can hear it suck air and dies. if i accelerate a bit slower thn it is fine. have new exhaust gaskets, intake gasket, new gasket between carby and manifold. Im really lost coz we cant figure what the drama is. any help would be great cheers

Sounds like vacuum problem. Check all the hoses from the brake booster, crank, decel valve and the inlet manifold. Even the inlet manifold to the head as well. You only need a tiny leak and it will stall everytime.
