My wife rang me yesterday to say she had no headlights. I was at work. Checked it out this morning. Thought it would be too much of a coincidence for both to go so checked fuses first. Discovered left and right side are fused separately so would be even more rare to blow 2 fuses at the same time.
Checked bulbs and sure enough, both blown. A google search shows its not as rare as I'd thought. Still, it doesn't mean there isn't an underlying problem. Has anyone else had any issues with their focus headlights? Or anything that can cause them to blow at the same time? I'll put it down to just coincidence but thought I'd ask the question just in case. No other issues with the car. Globes were likely original so 12 years old. Hope the next set last that long.

Not uncommon for both to go at same time, especially if the same age . When 1 blows it causes a surge on the other . Avoid cheap replacement globes and check all lights and your charging to be safe .
If faulty charging other globes normally blow. |

had osrams in it, which I assume are factory, as my territory also had osrams. I replaced with another pair of osrams. just standard also. I don't believe in putting brighter low beam bulbs in, but that's a discussion for another thread.

Same happened on my Berlin’s (2004 with projector lights).
I too thought it was too much of a coincidence, but was proven wrong. Both simply blown.

I've had the car for over 7 years and this is the first time I've changed them.

Yeah, both mine went this year on my Focus. Replaced them with the Osram long life bulbs for peace of mind. I also was still on factory bulbs.
