What would you do?

hey all..

Mainly for the guys as I was in this situation, but really anyone can comment.

Your at a local hangout be it a bar or pub, and you see a guy pick out a girl and chuckle with his mates about her. Few words get said and he approaches her, obviously trying to pick her up.
Not sure what was said, but it must have been bad because of the look of her face, her saying "no, get lost" and pushing him... he pushes her back enough for her to drop her drink and stumble backwards.. she swears at him and starts to walk out of the place. He follows, with friends not far behind.
Me thinking this could get bad I followed.
As she is walking a little way down the street these guys are swearing, yelling and just being obnoxiously rude towards her. She turns around and gives them a mouthful.
Next thing, the guy that tried to pick her up inside has now slapped her, I let that go... she pushed him again and then tried to get away, he pushed her agaisnt the building and repeatedly starts slapping her while swearing at her while his mates were laughing, this girl has blood coming from her lip, nose and eyebrow.. shes screaming out for help and no one is helping..

What would you do?

been there done that.. got involved, started kicking the crap and I mean kicking out of this dude as he was holding a lass down sitting on her chest punching her hard.. A few kicks and fisty cuffs later and I am dragging his sorry hyde back around the front of the club to let the bouncers sort him out when the chick that he was beating climbs on my back and BITES my shoulder.. CRazy .. A few stratches, hair pulls and bites later I am scuffling with two crazy mofos when the bouncers came around the corner and let me back inside the club without any buttons on my shirt..

Could I stand there and watch the beating, but as much as it is odd she still came and helped him.. Would I do it again?.. Even though that one girl was deranged and did that, the next one might geniunely need help.. Put me down for a YEP!

Well this clown is trying to put me up for assult now because of it..
Falcon coupe is on the money, I king hit him and put him down for the count(felt great I must admitt), and almost started on his mates but instead I took the girl back to the place and helped her get cleaned up until the cops arrived.
One of the coppers even said I should of given him a few more. But im glad I didnt my hand is hurting enough after 1 hit.

Dont sweat the assault charge at all,even if you get charged and found guilty the most youll get is a paltry fine.

I dont even know the sort of damage done to him cause he was out for close to 5mins and when he came to he couldnt stand or speak.
I just got the phone call this morning saying that he's come in to the cop station wanting to have me charged. That girl is coming to the party for me though, I rang her straight after and asked if she would back me if it goes further and she said she will.

Given the circumstances what else could of been done, you could of gone back and rang cops or got the bouncers but by that time she could of been KO'd.

My hats off to you mate,a good/true gentleman, i got a assault charge $400 fine and a 12 mth good behaviour bond for saving a little boy from his dad, the old man was dragging the boy to the car screaming, yelled at him to get in but the poor lad fell back abit. So called tuff dad kicked him with enuff force i felt it from 20m away... Afew words exchanged and yes i hit him alright.....

how has it got to the point where you can be charged for doing the right thing? it's not as if you beat the tar out of the guy.. just used appropriate force to control the situaition.

i'd hate to think that if my missus was in some sort of trouble that someone would think twice about helping her because they're worried about having an assault charge thrown at them.
