Default what to do with $1200

i have a EFII 1996 Dual Fuel running nicely, i am putting in pacemaker extractors on friday with a 2.5" exhaust.
I have a budget of about $1200 leftover and would like some advice as to the bestway to spend it to maybe do up the engine, i dont want anything crazy or something that might compromise reliability etc too much. Is it worth putting wheels and lowering or spending the money on the engine? any ideas?
thanks for all your advice!!

Well personally, if a car is duel fuel then I wouldn't bother so much with performance as its always going to be a compromise (sp?); but hey thats just me. So you go straight gas or straight petrol.

But in saying that, doing the cam isn't hardcore, so that would be the best place to start; I assume a 1636 is fine with LPG. Even so the gains are good, but whats the point if you are going to stop there.

Just get it running right, and looking nice and clean. Minor cosmetic mods make a big difference too.

Got any pics? That will help.

no pics yet, will try and take some on the weekend.
how much roughly to do the cam?

it needs a steering wheel, left hand mirror, wheels, I might just do these little things and maybe lower it.

convert it to straight gas.. buy a gas research underbonnet kit and ditch your fuel tank.. mount the spare wheel under there and put another donut tank in your boot.

Send the money to me!

Or if you dont like that idea than get a wade cam; $120 if your with fordmods.com, lower it on SL's, maybe a set of FTR's; $500ish depending who your buying off.
That'd be a nice start.

economy or power.

extractors and exhaust will help economy and power, so they're a good start.

i'm in the same boat as you.. I have a LPG system (dual fuel) so i won't be modding the AU engine at all. I'll be leaving it stock, with an exaust/5 speed/3.45 lsd.

When the time comes for me to have a daily, I will chuck all the LPG gear onto the daily and turbo the ED/AU engine.

Fix those minor things, mirror etc, get a nice steering wheel for it, and then put it on straight gas, with a cam to suit, and get it all tuned.

Any money left over should go towards 5speed and fixing anything else that might come up. Don't spend all your cash though, as something is sure to stuff up if you do spend it all.

Goodluck!

capa e-series eliminator switch chip (sports chip) are about $750 i think with your selector cable. then you could have a performance setting for petty or gas. prob another couple of hundred to get it installed and tuned. You can check em out at http://www.capa.com.au/ford_flash_tuner_chip.pdf
