Default Quarter Mile Calculator? Does it fit your ride?

http://robrobinette.com/et.htm

Admittingly it did pick my LS1 quarter mile ET almost exactly. Also a few other cars that I have checked are very very close.

Id like my charged 8 to run the time suggested.

I typed in 4000lbs and 480rwhp for a ET suggestion of 11.8 lol,I am already at 11.3 with a slipping trans and Darwin weather.

I recon a 10.8 is gettable so yeah its a bit off.

Turbo cars have a massive torque spread which the calculator doesn't account for.

its says my clubbie will do a 12.8

(weight is 3615 in pounds and 400 horsies @ fly)

if i recalculate using rwhp using 400hp@fly=300rwhp then its 13.35

Just for a giggle I tried my first car, a 1953 Austin A30.

1500 pounds, 30hp...

22 seconds...sounds a little optimistic to me from what I remember...

It says 11.44 for my xr8... Given the right conditions/tyres maybe

Make sure you add in the driver/riders weight too.

1kw = 1.34 hp

1kg = 2.2 pounds

Not really, my LS1 has stock diff gears, stock stall and it picked the right time. No doubt with gears and converter there is probably half a second to a full second difference.

Id call my setup less than optimal.

Yeah but the 1st gear in the Holden 4spd is rather short and helps with take off somewhat.

This is the reason for hole shotting the Fords all these years with the 6cyls and some 8's.

yeah I got it to come out with 16.1 for mine, which is quite close seeing as I got 15.5 and my GF got 16.6 in hers, which is the same but auto.

A standard 3.8 V6 from Holden only out performed the 4.0 I6 because of the shorter first gear in the transmission,the BTR is very tall but this is where economy comes into play.

The 5.0ltr Holden motor was the same scenario to the E series Windsor 5.0.....the shorter first gear in the trans getting the torque going sooner.

Why do you think a ZF 6spd BF 6 or 8 beats the same powered BA 6 or 8?

XE's aren't that heavy. I've found figures, probably for a 6, of 1320kg. Make it a V8 (+100kg), roll cage and then some weight reduction and it makes sense.

1400kg is almost 3100lbs though.
