Default BOSS Junior at Calder

Took the Aussie Car Enhancements BA XT 220KW 3 Valve Manual Sedan out to calder last night, managed to fit in 3 runs with the following results.

1 = 14.60 @ 100.95, 2.43 60ft, Tyre spin central
2 = 13.81 @ 102.92, 2.33 60ft, Tyre spin not as bad
3 = 13.70 @ 102.64, 2.26 60ft, Tyre spin pretty ordinary.

This car is so different to drive compared to the XR8, the torque curve is killer down low and to get if off the line is difficult. Some more track time will be interesting with some good tyres (Chris i don't think i will be using your tyres next time thanks mate) and a LSD rear end would also be good.

That's a good time from the 220 motor. What tyres were you using?

These little 220kw 3V's seem like a great little motor, good time and more to come by the sound's of it.

Elmer, these newer Generation of engines are just what Ford needed : .Chris ran a flat 12 and now it's little brother into the 13's.Imagine what the 290 would do with a little more R&D. :

Here's a link to the front page of my website with a scan of the dyno sheet. If youre ever in melton you need to drop in and take this thing for a drive cause they are so different to an XR8....

Hi Craig, thats totally impressed me, awesome result and there is plenty of room for a time improvement on the 60 foot....
All you need is some good rubber...
Well done to all involved.

Improve those 60' times that car is a dead set 13.5 sec car now!! I wouldn't worry to much about tyres, I would be trying to get the 60' time down. There are plenty of GTs/XRs that get 2.0 60' times on street tyres "eg Dunlop sp 9000, theres plenty of time in that car yet.. :

The difference between an XR & GT'S on SP9000's and this thing is the car has a lot of low down torque that the others don't. GT'S and XR'S don't get moving until about 3000RPM where as the 3 valve is tough from the HIT.

The ET'S will come down once i get the start line figured out, will try again next friday night....

So did you just have 1 slick or both on last friday night, should be an awsome result with an lsd and two slicks turning.

Will the lsd still be the 3:23 Craig? Having so much torque from lower it may do better than an xr8 with the same ratio

No mate the UTE is still sitting in the corner with no clutch i am waiting on the boys from textralia to get some bits from America to finish it off so we can try it out.

That's why i am playing with the 3 valve right now. That has a standard clutch hope it holds up for a little while yet, if it goes on friday night i will be riding my pushbike to work....
