G'day All.
I recently disconnected the battery and went through the resetting process for the ecu and now I can't get the CD unit working! It continues to show the err message and so it's supposed to give me a time out, my wife entered the wrong code a few times but it won't give me the "code" option again. I checked the fuses, you never know but they were good. I even disconnected the battery this morning, not for very long though, and still nothing! Can anyone help out? I have the Alpine CD changer under the front pass seat, but this didn't give me a problem when I changed the battery a few months ago. Is there a special sequence I need to input to get the "code" option back again? Last edited by GK; 24-07-2005 at 02:03 PM. Reason: Adding extra info |

You have three times to enter the correct code.
If you try three times and fail the unit is locked out of action Big problem! |

In the manual, it says that 3 wrong goes at the secuity code means a delay before the code message is displayed again. Each time a series of 3 is made and wrong, the length of time before code is displayed again increases. A week is a jolly long time though. Perhaps I'm off to Ford after all! Unless anyone has the solution for me of course LOL! GK |

When that happened to mine i had to leave the car in accesories with the stereo on then wait. With the engine running it just stays on error forever, this was for the series 2 in dash 6 stacker, not sure if its the same for all the others. Cheers, phil |

I went to my brother in law's place for a birthday party and just left the accessories on in his driveway. When my wife went to the car to get something for our little daughter, she noticed the "code" message had returned and she punched in the code (correctly this time) and we're back in business. Many thanks, GK |
