Is anyone else having a problem with the site search feature, or has there been a recent change as to how it works?


For the last week or so, I find that only searches for a single work give any results. If you search for 2 or more words, no results.

Seems to be working fine for me - try (because it's a heuristic search) joining words with + (e.g race+team) and remember that all search terms must be greater than 3 characters.

I understand the basic premise, that it doesn't waste time searching for words like 'the', 'at', 'is', etc.
But it's a PITA on a motoring forum, especially given the penchant for acronyms.
Can't search for ABS, DPF, FPV, BF, GT, etc.

The minimum search word length is 3 characters so terms like ABS, DPF, FPV etc. are all covered. In addition we have a number of 2 letter terms covering the Ford model codes included in the search function. It's not to save 'time' doing the search, it's designed to keep the size of the search data in the database (it's an indexed search) to a reasonable size.

Well dang, what am I doing wrong? DPF doesn't work for me, and neither does ABS
