not really the only thing that effects fuel econ is throttle posi even b4 i had the gears in 3rd at 3000rpm inst l/100 in on 9 on the free way
now with the 3.9s it sits on 2400 in O/D and cruises nicly around town is just like normal

i wouldnt go 13psi... thats pretty dangerous. 18-20psi is probably the lowest and safest you could go to. i have chirped 4th on my 17's (235/45/ZR17) with 20psi.

Yeh, it wasnt the safest trip down the strip... Specialy top end. Prolly shouldnt have gone too much lower than 15-18psi... It was good top end with that.

If you go too low then you will have less tyre on the track.

Anyone raced a manual E-series down the 1/4 with 3.9's?

the funny thing with drag racing is the quicker you get the lower the TS.

With a lower ratio diff you get to the end of the quarter quicker and your TS can be lower. head to head with reaction time differences it can be strange. Racing my mate useless I can be in front at the end of the quarter with a higher TS but lower et. He runs 3.73 and I run 3.45 gears. 4.11 would be good for a V* that can really rev but a six might run out of steam 3.9's sound better to me.

Match the gears to weight, max power RPM, rolling diameter and target trap speed.

That's the tradeoff with a shorter diff. You get more launch but lose a bit of oomph at highway speeds.

For example, compare planting it at 100kph with your old diff, to planting it at 100kph with your new diff.

Mine is all launch launch launch now, being 4.11s and 3000rpm stally. Overtaking at highway speeds could be embarassing if the other car decides not to let me pass.

(rambling now) I remember being in a 351 XD once. It was an auto with 2.77s. It was slow as off the line, but at highway speeds it woke up and could really punt around hard.
