Smile Off on a holiday

Well on Thursday, my mates, fez and I will be off for our schoolies adventures down the south coast, convoying with 2 other cars.

My car will have myself and two passengers, along with 3 suitcases, 5 backpacks, 2 fold up chairs, and an esky. Should be interesting getting all that in.

Expecting to do over 1000kms, so i'll be keeping a close eye on economy, with the extra weight and mainly highway driving. As well as just seeing how the car goes overall.

It wont be getting a break either, comes back home after its "holiday" and will probably start taking me to work, at 100km's a day (used to do about 4km's a day getting me to and from school).

So when I come back i'll be reporting on the car, getting some pictures happening and sharing my Fiesta touring experiences.

Shall see you all then
Fiestaz

Shotgun! I'd hate to be in the back, that's quite a load in there.
Be interesting to see the fuel economy.
Have a good one.

Well after 10 awesome days, the car and I have returned.

I'll get some pictures happening in the next few days, but 3 people and a lot of luggage meant a very low car . Ended up using the 60 part of the 60:40 backseat fold thing, and the person in the back got the single seat which apparently was quite comfortable.

Overall the car was great, didn't miss a beat, it got extremely dirty (pictures later) explored some dirt roads, and bugs galore.

Now for the fuel economy. Most driving was highway, 90-100km/h with some short 1-2 km drives at low speeds. The trip also included the scenic routes which meant corners and great mountain drives (for those of you familiar with Kangaroo Valley you will know what i mean).... At the end of 1034kms i average 6.7L/100km's in fuel, using one full tank of 98 Vortex and a half tank of 95 Vortex.

Car did struggle a bit, especially up hills often grabbing 4th and 3rd gears, but was quite comfortable... Did miss cruise control however...

But totally happy with how the car went... Now its going to be driving me to work, 100kms a day of probably traffic filled driving.... but will have to see...

Thanks

That's pretty good economy for a loaded car.
I love a good a good roadtrip, had a beauty while at uni in july. I had 6 days off between res school classes at Wagga, so headed down to Mt Beauty to MTB. That got rained off, so then over to Bright, a bit of wine tasting in the King Valley, then over to Mansfield & back over the Strathbogies to Euroa.
Beautiful flowing roads that the Fiesta eats up at a sinful speed.
