Default Replacing ECU WS Fiesta

Replacing ECU WS Fiesta

I'm trying to replace the ECU in my WS Fiesta, does anyone know what the procedure is to get it to work?

Do I need to change ignition, body control module, dash with those that came out of the same car as the ECU or do Ford need to reprogram it to suit my existing system?

Any info appreciated.

Thanks
Tony

This member posted a download link, with instruction, on how to do it myself. One week on, the unit hasn't played up once. Three different dealers told me to virtually 'Live with it.

I am pretty sure they need to clone the old one onto the new. It's more of a security thing I believe.

Certainly sounds that way, I tried installing the body control module and ignition barrel from the car the ECU came out of but the immobiliser light went berserk when I tried to start it.

I've had the ECU remapped for more power and was a bit scared to take it to Ford in case when they pair the ECU to the new car they might also remap it back to standard, I have no idea if this is possible so hoping someone can offer some advice?

For those wondering I needed to change the body control module, the key fob and the instrument cluster.

Or find someone with a dealer IDS tool.
