: is it worth it???

hell yes, it is the only completly tunable option for the e-series short of complete aftermarket ecu...

be aware, that the tune will cost an additional $600

And a unichip new would cost around the same.

It is still listed as "Coming Soon" in their website... I hope its out, and at $695 its not a bad price.

Nah, the new ECU has more features so it should be better in the long run. Auto tuning, NOS control, antilag etc.

Question...
If the chip is worth $625, and a tune is $600. Would it be cheaper to go for a uni-chip and a tune?

Also, what does the new chip offer ? Just the ability to adjust the fuel mapping or what?

Thanks for yas time,

SupahStah

I think it will plug into the ecu main board and stay there, the flash tuner does not have to stay in the car

the chip will plug into the expansion port on the ECU. That chip is then reprogrammed using a burner and appropriate software. to order all the stuff (pre-built) yourself would cost about 400, but then you have to install it and find the right software for it.

how do I know?

software page #1
software page #2
chip
burner
realtime burning

I love DIY... only problem is finding the right files to interpret the contents of the for chip (which can be found here

have fun.

now im going to call chiptorque and see if they can send me the definition files...

There is apparently a very small batch of them coming in to the country just before Cup weekend. Not sure on how many or who is getting them, but there should be a big load coming in end of Nov / early Dec. Sounds like they are flying over a box and the rest are coming by sea.

They will end up being less then a unichip, wile allowing the tuner to do more a lot faster (less time tuning means less $$$).

I should hope they cost less than a unichip, they are a $80 plug in module, and nothing else... you are talking about these capa plug-in chips arent you?
